Cornwall offers a multitude of things to do during your stay here. From beaches to local attractions, from coastal walks to delicious food, Cornwall has it all.

There’s a plethora of beaches to choose from when you stay in Cornwall, so here are a selection of local beaches – (all within 20 mins drive) – Porthcothan Bay Beach – plenty of sand and surf and rock caves to explore at low tide. (Dog friendly all year round). Porth Beach – large shoreline with waves and rock pools. (Dogs allowed apart from between 15th May and 30th September, between 10am and 6pm). Watergate Bay Beach – 2mile stretch of sandy beach. (Dog friendly all year round). Crantock Beach – lovely ‘horseshoe’ shaped beach. (Dog friendly all year round) Constantine Bay – 1.5 miles of soft sand, dunes and rocks for climbing.  Great surfing beach.  (Dog friendly all year round)

WADEBRIDGE - 10 min drive – a traditional Cornish town on the River Camel offering many independent shops and delicious places to eat. It is also home to the Royal Cornwall Show which takes place in June.

PADSTOW- 16 min drive – charming fishing port surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches which is home to Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and Michelin Star Paul Ainsworth at No.6.  You can also take a ferry across to Rock for breathtaking coastal walks to Daymer Bay and Polzeath Beaches.

CAMEL CREEK ADVENTURE PARK - 8 min drive – children’s all weather theme park.  Suitable for children up to 12 years old. No dogs allowed, assistance dogs only.

SCREECH OWL SANCTUARY - 15 mins drive – get up close and personal with owls, emus and alpacas. No dogs allowed, assistance dogs only.

NEWQUAY ZOO - 22 mins drive – Discover hundreds of the world’s most amazing animals. No dogs allowed, assistance dogs only.

BODMIN & WENFORD RAILWAY  - 23 mins drive – take a journey via steam along the 6.5 mile track to Boscarne Junction and back again.  Dog friendly, apart for certain special events.  Please check their website.

CAMEL TRAIL - 24 mins drive – a largely traffic free, 18 mile trail through stunning Cornish countryside. Start at a variety of access points. Bike hire available in Padstow, Wadebridge and Bodmin.

EDEN PROJECT - 26 mins drive – Visit the famous gardens, transformed from a former clay mine. Dogs allowed.

NEWQUAY BLUE REEF AQUARIUM - 30 mins drive– take an undersea adventure through the worlds’ seas and oceans. No dogs allowed, assistance dogs only.

BODMIN JAIL - 32 mins drive – discover Cornwall’s most haunting and dark history in this world class, immersive experience including the jail’s state of the art ‘Dark Walk’.  No dogs allowed, assistance dogs only.

THE LOST GARDENS OF HELIGAN - 35 min drive – visit the estate that was left undiscovered until the chance discovery of a door in the ruins. With over 200 acres of magical gardens, woodland walks and ‘The Jungle’ to see. Dogs allowed.
